Wasko AV was contacted by Grace United Church with the idea of creating an augmented reality experience to tell the story of the events surrounding the Halifax Explosion. After several meetings the concept of an "immersive documentary" was realized. We worked over the next months alongside historian David Banoub and project managers Brian Foster and David Foster to collect first hand accounts of the disaster.

From there - Wasko AV handled the recording and arranging the narrative into a cohesive story, creation of the original score, and the animation built around the architecture of the beautiful Grace United Church interior. We also managed all technical aspects from sourcing and budgeting equipment to installation, mapping and lighting.

The show debuted as part of Nocturne Halifax's programming on Oct. 14th, 2017 and was a resounding success.
